June, 2020, the Sisters Alliance for Freedom and Equality (SAFE) under A New Way of Life (ANWOL) awarded Constructing Our Future a capital expense grant that will enable us to purchase our first house.  After the success of 9 transition houses, ANWOL created the SAFE network in order to teach other formerly incarcerated people how to create and operate a transition home.  We are so excited for their support and belief in what we are trying to accomplish for formerly incarcerated women in Indiana.  

In Summer, 2020 at the height of COVID-19 and through the support of Central Indiana Community Foundation (CICF), Constructing Our Future provided to a limited number of formerly incarcerated women in Indiana direct cash assistance and/or bill payment to alleviate some of the financial burden from job loss and other constraints associated with COVID-19 in the amount of $35,000.
